H.E. Salama Alawadhi Visits MEDECO PSEM’s Pioneering Nitrile Glove Factory in Abu Dhabi

We were honored to welcome H.E. Salama Alawadhi, Assistant Undersecretary of Industry Development at the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT), during her recent visit to the region’s first specialized MEDECO PSEM nitrile glove factory in Abu Dhabi. The visit highlighted the success of the joint venture between Abu Dhabi Medical Devices Company – Medeco and USMGC, reinforcing the UAE’s position as a global leader in manufacturing and innovation.
This advanced manufacturing hub is designed to produce nitrile gloves for various sectors, including medical, food, and industrial applications, ensuring the highest levels of protection and safety. The factory currently operates two production lines, with the capability to produce over 155 million gloves annually in its first phase. Plans for expansion are already underway, with new production lines set to be added this year.
During the visit, H.E. Salama Alawadhi reflected on the earlier announcement made during the ‘Make in the Emirates’ forum, where she spoke about the factory’s anticipated opening. What she witnessed firsthand was a clear testament to the commitment and progress made in achieving this milestone.
In addition to the tour, Mrs. Alawadhi had the pleasure of meeting Mr. John Todoroki, an inventor and the visionary behind MEDECO PSEM. Mr. Todoroki shared how he chose the UAE as the ideal location to turn his dreams into reality, thanks to the country’s supportive environment, advanced technologies, and unique infrastructure. He provided an in-depth explanation of the factory’s production stages and its focus on sustainability and high-quality manufacturing, positioning the factory as a strong global competitor.
At MEDECO PSEM, we are proud to be part of the UAE’s thriving industrial sector, contributing to its growth as a leading global hub for manufacturing and innovation.
We thank H.E. Salama Alawadhi for her ongoing support of our initiatives and for her continued efforts to foster industrial development in the UAE. We are also grateful to Dimitri Maamari for his dedication and leadership in making this visionary project a reality.
